Scouting America Venturing Crew 1450 Spends the night at Red Hill On November 2nd and 3rd this year, Venturing Crew 1450 used Red Hill at Antietam to host a crew wilderness survival campout. Two crew members and two adult advisors built shelters out of the available materials on the property as well as a few brought items: leaves, pine needles, small limbs, downed trees, tarps and blankets. While we don't have photos of the shelters, we can say the shelters were quite nice and kept the crew very warm during the freezing overnight temperatures. The crew also used the firepit on the North East side of the property to cook dinner, make a cake in a Dutch oven, and roast marshmallows for s'mores. Red Hill at Antietam is available for other scouting events if requested.
